Project 365 Day 115
I’m posting out of order because I almost forgot Monday’s photos. This what parts of my lawn look like right now. I love these flowers.
I don’t have much to say about the flowers or spring though. I am working on a different project right now. I changed my email address on Sunday and I’m still not done updating it with all the various blogs and companies I follow or use. I know many of them are on Facebook now, and I do use Facebook more and more, but I’m still attached to getting updates and notices in my inbox.
My inbox is now Thunderbird and I’m loving it. I finally figured out why I wasn’t able to use it with yahoomail. Yahoo charges a fee to forward email that way! That’s one reason I changed my address. I remembered I can use my internet service provider for email! The other reason I switched is that for a long time I’ve been uneasy relying on the yahoo servers for mail I want to save. Thunderbird makes it much easier to save mail.
I am learning to be more ruthless about what I save though. In my yahoomail I have dozens of folders with all kinds of stuff dating back to 2007. You know, “I might find it useful someday!” However, I rarely go looking for things in those folders, and much of the information is saved elsewhere on the Internet, easily rediscovered. I had hesitated leaving my yahoomail account in the past because it would be such a task to transfer all the information somewhere else. Now I realize the most important things to save are the irreplaceable emails from family and friends. I save the emails I write too. It’s part of being a family historian.
I can’t see your photos in your post.
Glad you found something you liked for email! I just use gmail, that way things are saved “online” so to speak, just in case something happens to my computer. Shudder to think of that!!
Hmm, I’ll have to check the settings in my photo gallery. Thanks for letting me know.
Yahoomail means saving mail online too, but I don’t want to do it there anymore. I back up my computer with both an external hard drive and Backblaze (and photos and scrapbook pages also go to Smugmug).
